Swimming Lessons
Did you know that drowning is one of the leading cause of death from injuries among children? It can happen quickly...sometimes in less than 2 minutes.
At New Milford Fitness & Aquatics Club, we are committed to teaching the water safety skills you and your child need to be safe around water. We offer year round swimming lessons for all age levels, from babies to adults, in our 3’ to 5′ deep 25 yard pool and therapy pool. During our swimming lessons, we teach important water safety skills, like treading water and floating, turning in a circle and swimming to an exit, swimming 25 yards to an exit, exiting the pool without a ladder, and jumping in the water as well as being able to return to the surface after being submerged. Ask us about our Baby & Me, Preschool Aquatics, group, semi-private, and one-on-one private lessons!
Water safety skills can be taught early, even at age 1. Not only can learning to swim teach you how to save your own life, but it can also help you save others’ lives! Did you know that as many as 88% of drownings could be reduced by having swimming lessons by age 4?
That's just one of the many reasons why it's so important for all children to learn how to swim!
All of our instructors are certified, experienced, and are all vetted by our Aquatics Director, Jeanne DiGiacomo, who has over 20 years of experience as a Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor and USA Swim Coach.

INTRO TO COMPETITIVE SWIMMING
TUES & THURS 5:00 - 6:00 PM
(ages 6-12)
*Must be able to swim 25 yards of pool and meet levels 3/4 swimming ability. If your child is new to the program, he/she will need to be evaluated. (This is not a swim lesson program). Your child will need to have the basic strokes down, showing consistency in breathing and strokes.
$240 per session - follows the lesson schedule listed above. 20 children max per session / minimum of 12 swimmers necessary in order to run the program.
Competitive swimming is one of the most popular sports in the world. If your child has an interest in competitive swimming, we can help get him/her ready for a swim team. We will work on all 4 competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly), starts and turns, as well as focus on the ethics and the technical aspects that make a competitive swimmer.

Testimonials
"Both of my girls have been swimming at the club since they were toddlers. Ms. Jeanne and her team of teachers are wonderful at everything from coaching the youngest and most resistant swimmer into the water, to helping my oldest refine her strokes. My girls enjoy the classes and look forward to attending. As a parent, I have peace of mind knowing that because of what they've learned at the club, they are safe in and around the water."
